SENSOR THERMOMETERS :Pro-Idee Voice Thermo Thermometer

This new model from Pro-Idee will actually tell you the current temperature reading and all you have to do is place the sensor on your forehead and using infra-red technology the thermometer will provide an accurate reading (± 0.2 °C) in just 1.5 seconds. At the push of a button, the infrared signal is sent to the forehead skin and the sensor measures the given temperature. Afterwards, the temperature is either displayed on the LCD screen, in perfectly legible 10mm-digits, or, on request, as a voice message.

It does have its negatives too, just to reinforce the idea that things are never as simple as they seem. Thus, the Voice Thermo only has a measuring range of 35.5 to 42 °C, so it’s not really useful as anything other than a medical gadget. If you are really keen on this contraption, all you have to do is fork out about $63.



This device is very hygienic and practical too, as you don't even have to wake up your child in order to check if they have a fever or not. The included 3V lithium battery (CR2032) is sufficient for approximately 1,000 measurements. Made of rough plastic, the Voice Thermo measures 3.5x11x2.5cm, weighing just about 65 grams.

This is indeed an innovative alternative to the traditional thermometers, but, as mentioned earlier, the temperature measuring range of the Voice Thermo, makes it rather redundant, as its only special function is that of voice reading the measurements, feature on which not too many people would spend more than 60 bucks.
